e-ISOTIS attends AUTONOMIA EXPO, Athens, Greece

From the 16th to 18th May 2008, e-ISOTIS attended and participated in AUTONOMIA EXPO in Athens, Greece.

Autonomia is the largest exhibition held in Greece that demonstrates products and services for people with disabilities, health, rehabilitation, special education, technology and independent living in Greece, also attracting participation from European providers.

e-ISOTIS Attends CSUN 2008 (Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference) in Los Angeles

e-ISOTIS attended the internationally recognised CSUN conference, which looks at new developments in the field of assistive technology for people with disabilities.

In addition to the annual invite, e-ISOTIS was also invited to present the ASK-IT project to delegates, as this particular EC project has gathered momentum on an international scale with interest ranging from LA to Beijing.

e-ISOTIS presented the ASK-IT project (www.ask-it.org), discussing the details of how the project has been managed and what impact this project would have on quality of life for the ‘end user’. It was also demonstrated how this project can be adapted to other markets, from Asian markets to the American market looking at it from an Academic, Scientific and also Commercial angle.

e-ISOTIS Interviewed on Greek National Television Channel ET3

On 7th/8th February 2008 ,

Nikos Floratos, the Business Development Manager for e-ISOTIS, was interviewed on Greek National Television channel ET3. This was in recognition for the work e-ISOTIS has done in projects looking to assist people with disabilities and the elderly.

ET3 is the largest regional television channel in Greece, with national coverage. On a daily basis, ET3 records shows and news bulletins that demonstrate how rural developments are having an impact on the wider society. ET3 is recognised for its links to assisting people with disabilities and ensures a high profile is given to this topic within Greece. In addition, with live links to its regional studios and with reports from regional Greece, the Balkans and the rest of Europe, ET3 was a fantastic medium for e-ISOTIS to promote the accredited work it does for the projects.

e-ISOTIS Participates in the 1st EU4ALL Dissemination Conference in Lisbon

’The Lifelong Learning (LLL) paradigm, which supports the idea that learning should occur throughout a person¢s lifetime, is intended to integrate education and work in a continuous process in which all citizens should be able to access knowledge and perform work at any age and with any disability.’

The non-profit organization e-ISOTIS (Information Society Open to Impairments), organized the 1st EU4ALL dissemination conference in Lisbon, Portugal on the 8th-9th November 2007.

Announcement of eAbilities 2nd Workshop

e-ISOTIS will participate as an exhibitor in the Rehacare Fair (stand: 3E58, Hall: 3) that will be held in Düsseldorf, 3/10 – 6/10/2007.

During exhibition dates, the eAbilities workshop (Room No 14 1st floor, near Hall 1) will be held in the Düsseldorf Congress Centre on 4/10/2007 from 13.30 pm to 17.30 pm.

E-learning course based on the EURIDICE: “Typology of the archival materials” - Ms prof. Halina Robotka - ICIMSS, Mikolaj Kopernik University (author of the course)

In addition, e-ISOTIS gave an extensive presentation on the accessibility of websites.
