e-ISOTIS attends EURDICE project conference in Warsaw, Poland

The agenda was as following:
Opening - Mr Slawomir Radon - General Director of State Archives (Polish, 5 min.)
Presentation of the Project - Ewa Rosowska (Polish, 15 min.)
Presentation of the portal EURIDICE - Andrea de Polo
Presentation of the elearning platforms and courses - Sara Roegiers
The usefulness of the digital libraries of the cultural heritage for the higher level education - Ms Monika Krakowska (Jagiellonian)
E-learning course based on the EURIDICE: “Typology of the archival materials” - Ms prof. Halina Robotka - ICIMSS, Mikolaj Kopernik University (author of the course)

In addition, e-ISOTIS gave an extensive presentation on the accessibility of websites.

e-ISOTIS presents at ATE2007

Picture of ATE 2007 event presenterse-ISOTIS presented the EU4all (European Unified Approach for Assisted Lifelong Learning) project at the Educational Symposium with title “Designing the Science Laboratory for the School of Tomorrow: Advanced Technologies in Education” which took place in Athens, Greece, on 26-27 January 2007. The aim of the symposium was to present Today’s Achievements, Future Challenges and Expectations in the field of educational technology.
The symposium was organized in the framework of Discovery Space and Connect projects, funded by the European Commission, and took place at the venues of Ellinogermaniki Agogi, Dimitriou Panagea Str., Pallini, Attiki.

e-ISOTIS to attend kick-off meeting Game_on

The first meeting of the Game_on project will take place on 18th-20th January in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Game_on project aims at:
- Creating highly engaging and motivating e-learning materials and e-games in small, accessible units, to develop personal development and work sustainability skills in prisoners and ex-offenders, including additionally marginalised groups of prisoners, i.e. deaf prisoners and those who are learning disabled.
- Ensuring that at all stages the target audience is engaged in the design, implementation and evaluation of the materials.
- Continuously evaluating the effectiveness, engagement and usability of the materials at all production stages, incorporating the results into ongoing design and development.
- Providing as output a suite of materials with fifteen minute learning objects (LO) that offer learning outcomes concerning personal development and work sustainability skills. The personal development module will support learning in the field of social and emotional intelligence that will develop the employability of the beneficiaries (e.g., managing aggression, responses to problems and stress, self esteem, trust, etc). The work sustainability module will support the expectations and code of conduct of employers, the legal and safety issues of employment etc. There will also be Basic Skills modules. These materials will be designed and developed by all partners to take full account of cultural and language considerations and including best practice from across Europe.

e-ISOTIS to attend FP7 challenge 7 - eInclusion Information Days

e-ISOTIS will attend the FP7 challenge 7 - eInclusion Information Days in Brussels on 15th and 16th January 2007. During these 2 days, information will be provided on Call 1 and Call2 with regards to eInclusion.
Sessions will address:
- Embedding accessibility in mainstream ICT
- Computer simulation of the user interaction
- Non-invasive Brain Computer Interaction
- ICT for Social Inclusion of young people
- Advanced Prototype Systems for Independent Living and Active Ageing
- Open Systems Reference Architectures, Standards and Platforms

e-ISOTIS attends "CSR benchmarks for consumers" closing conference

e-ISOTIS will attend the conference “CSR benchmarks for consumers” on 18 December 2007 at European Parliament, Eastman Building, Brussels, Belgium. the conference will offer an insight into the current approach of social, environmental and ethical concerns in consumer tests. This conference will close the “Corporate Social Responsibility and Consumer awareness” project co-funded by the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and implemented by seven consumer organisations and the consumer platform ICRT.
Participants will come from consumer organisations, NGOs active in the field of labour or environmental issues, trade unions, companies and trade associations, policy makers.

e-ISOTIS at 10th Aniversary EASPD

Picture of meeting in Brussels' City Halle-ISOTIS attended the 10th Aniversary of EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities).
This took place on 7 December at the Brussels’ City Hall.
The event drew a large number of participants (key stakeholders, policy makers, end user organisations, etc.).

e-ISOTIS at 1st European Song Festival

Picture showing one of the Eurosong participants performing onstagee-ISOTIS was present at the 1st European Song Festival that took place in Greece on the 5th December 2006 at the Stadium of Peace and Friendship in Neo Faliron/Athens. e-ISOTIS participates in this event to promote its European projects and initiatives that are focusing on improving the quality of life of disabled people.
