2004 - MOTRASUP Modular Training System for Handicapped in Providing Attendant Support

Logo MOTRASUPScope: MOTRASUP aims at implementing a training curriculum that will train and certify people with disabilities to work as psychological supporters for other people with disabilities. The training will be undertaken via pilots in Germany, Bulgaria and Greece based on classroom teaching, while the courses will also be offered through an accessible e-learning platform.

Target group:
Direct beneficiaries:
- The individuals with disabilities who are being trained
- The lecturers, mediators and facilitators
Indirect beneficiaries:
- Individuals, receiving attendant support
- The relatives of the trainees

Project objectives:
The objectives of the project are the following:
- To specify the particular needs for the training and the required qualification of people with disabilities at a national level in order to become an attendant supporter.
- To design teaching and learning materials that will constitute the curriculum, and prepare supporting didactic material (study manuals, video films, CDs, etc.). The material will be localised for the various pilots.
- To teach the MOTRASUP courses in a physical classroom environment, while they will also be offered through an accessible e-learning platform.
- To establish a set of evaluation criteria to assess the created courses and its supporting material.
- To certify the psychological support as a professional competence at the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO).

This project is a European one that involves five organisations from three different member states
- INFORMATION SOCIETY OPEN TO IMPAIRMENTS, e-ISOTIS, (Greece)
European Non Profit Organisation that advances the use of accessible ICT and the conduction of innovative training focusing on independent living of disabled people
- Asociyacia za socialni texnologii (STA), (Bulgaria)
The Association for Social Technologies is a non-profit non-governmental organisation helping disadvantaged people (e.g. disabled) to improve their life and social position.
- Institute of Information Investigation, (Bulgaria)
The institute is an Independent research organisation, working in various fields such as e.g. Data and Knowledge Modelling, Information Management, etc.
- Initiative zur sozialen Rehabilitation (Initiative) (Germany)
The initiative is a non-profit psychosocial association with 3 main activities: assisted living, a newspaper initiative IRRTU(R)M, and running of a cafe
