2005 - PEDA Parents Education in Disadvantaged Areas
Scope: The project has realized that the contribution of parents to the future of their children is very important and especially for children who face difficulties in their daily life. The lack of knowledge and the attitude of society in the disability field are barriers for social development, prosperity and better quality of life for those children. Therefore the project fosters new strategies for involving and motivating the parents in the education of their children and themselves.
Target group:
The project focuses on parents of children with disabilities
Project objectives:
The objectives of the project are the following:
- Stimulating parents for a life long learning
- Allowing parents of children with disabilities to exchange views and experiences on everyday issues
- Keeping aware parents on current legislation on disability issues
- Increasing self esteem and active citizenship of the parents

This project is a European one that comprises 3 organisation of three different countries
- (e-ISOTIS) Information Society Open to Impairments (Greece) European Non Profit Organisation that advances the use of accessible ICT and the conduction of innovative training focusing on independent living of people with disabilities
- (Antvec) Antalya Contemporary Education and Culture Foundation (Turkey) It is a non-profit non-governmental organization dealing with education and culture at all levels.
- Terras Dentro (Portugal) Non profit association that deals with the development of rural micro regions
