2005 - Active Citizenship 9th May, Europe Day
Scope: Stimulate young people to realise the importance and acceptance of European citizenship especially by becoming familiar with the European Institutions and instruments
Target group:
Our target group comprises in general students from primary and secondary schools as also their teachers.
Project objectives:
The project will promote the following activities:
- Promotion of a competition theme for stimulating students and teachers to express their idea on the European Citizenship;
- Implementation of cultural exchanges between students for developing mutual knowledge on different cultures in Europe;
- Organisation of a special ceremony for selecting and awarding the best work of art on the idea on European Citizenship in each participating country;
- Simultaneous celebration of the Europe Day in all countries via a videoconference facility;
- The competition winners of each country will meet in Strasburg (France) and visit the European Parliament;
- Implementation of a multilingual web site, where all the produced works of art from all participating countries will be presented
