2006 - AHVIIT-ACCESS (Audio Haptics for Visually Impaired Information technology)
Scope: This project seeks to improve the inclusion of workers or trainees who are blind or visually impaired in vocational training programmes using visual materials, by delivering these in a non visual format that is touch and sound. The project will design, produce and test pilot learning materials as well as create an online training programme for teachers.
Target group: Our target group comprises:
- Employees who are visually impaired or blind.
- People at vocational educational training [VET] centres.
- Organisations seeking to prepare people with visual impairments for employment or improve their employment prospects and futures.
Project objectives: The objectives of the project are the following:
- To develop a system that uses multi sensory learning stimuli to deliver vocational training for the visually impaired;
- To produce 3 sets of pilot course materials;
- To produce an online staff training program.

European Non Profit Organisation that advances the use of accessible ICT and the conduction of innovative training focusing on independent living of disabled people.
