2006 - GAMBE (Community close vocational integration of people with socialpsychiatric disabilities)

Scope: The current situation is as such that there are a lot of unemployed people with social-psychiatric disabilities, existing qualification systems do not respect the special needs of people with social-psychiatric disabilities, and professionals are working without connection to the communities and the social structurs of the clients. GAMBE aims at changing this by promoting a self-determined life, strengthening the community, establish a sustainable implementation of high quality professional education, and exchange this acquired knowledge within the partner countries. This should result in a curriculum for the education as community close integrational worker, a curriculum for qualification program for people with disabilities, an internet platform, guidelines for job creation, and a manual for community close vocational integration.

Target group: The target groups are:
- People with social-psychiatric disabilities
- Professionals work with people with social-psychiatric disabilities

Project objectives: The project objectives are:
- Establishment of permanent individual supporting networks within the social life environment of the clients
- Support in terms of empowerment
- Support of social competence
- Training in ICT
- Qualified education
- Qualification of regional active persons
- Analyses of the potentials and deficits of the community
- Activation and further development of the regional networks
- Seeking and finding of new jobs especially particular niche employment
- Push discussion in the partner countries about high quality professional education
- Sustained implementation of the model of community close employment integration in the educational and employment policy of the partner countries
- Identify different methods of job creation
- Identify new niche employment for people with social psychiatric disabilities
