2006 - VOCA2

Logo of VOCA2 projectScope: VOCA EUROPE 2 aims at offering increased accessibility to vocational training, enhancing the chances for people with disabilities in the labour market by providing them with the opportunity to obtain a qualification to become mentors who can assist individuals and companies in the recruitment process, while also ensuring that people with disabilities maintain their job.

Target group:
Institutions of vocational training and education, teachers, people with disabilities, labour market.

Project objectives:
The objectives of the project are the following:
- To develop a competence model for assessing the abilities of companies as to the recruitment and subsequent employment of disabled persons.
- A train-the-mentors course will be developed and tested aiming e.g. at equipping mentors with monitoring capabilities. The training will also support companies in the process of creating jobs for people with disabilities.
- The selection and adaptation of mentoring tools, ensuring that the mentor can assist the company in the recruiting process so that the company hires the right person for the job.
- The selection and adaptation of tools that enable the mentor to act as a coach for both the company and the individual in the process following the recruitment.

Partners (country):
This project is a European one that involves 23 organisations from seven different Member States
- INFORMATION SOCIETY OPEN TO IMPAIRMENTS, e-ISOTIS, (Greece)
European Non Profit Organisation that advances the use of accessible ICT and the conduction of innovative training focusing on independent living of people with disabilities.
- CYBERALL, (Greece)
Greek company as Information Technology and Telecommunications systems integrator that provides products and services in the fields of Information technology and telecommunications (IT&T), solely for people with disabilities and as a result to advance their quality of life.
- HUSET VENTURE, (Denmark)
This institution aims to enable physically disabled to find a job. It is active in the fields of establishing companies with job-opportunities for people with disabilities, making it possible to get a job in already established private or public companies, and theoretically developing methods in the field of job-opportunities for people with disabilities.
- SUMA, (Spain)
This organisation works in the field of communication, designing strategies and communication plans with different tools and techniques. It is interested in initiatives that improve the conditions of people with disabilities (e.g. improved conditions of training and education).
- COOPERATIVA SOCIALE II MOSAICO, (Italy)
This cooperative works with people with learning difficulties, elderly people and psychiatric people. The company also manages a kindergarten for children with learning difficulties.
- Il MOSAICO LAVORO, (Italy)
The company offers the opportunity for disadvantaged people to reach a professional level, which would otherwise not be possible for them in the competitive job market.
- NDEA, (Lithuania)
The association was established to promote the creation of the Information Society of Lithuania by developing distance education. Its major purpose is to provide equal learning opportunities to all Lithuanian citizens, despite their place of living.
