e-ISOTIS and our volunteer

e-ISOTIS is registered as a volunteering NGO at the Greek Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and currently is involving more than 40 volunteers to support its activities.

Our volunteers are helping us on a regular basis. All of them, whether private individuals, members of voluntary organisations, students, workers, or pensioners, are on hand, regardless of the day of week, time, place, or the area they are working for. They may be providing training or translation of our material if properly skilled, helping to organise speeches and events, receiving and distributing information, undertaking public relations duties… the list of their activities is - happily! - endless.

e-ISOTIS has organised a number of events to honour the volunteers. For example in Thessaloniki a workshop was organised specifically for our volunteers in Thesalloniki for knowing each other better at Vergina Palace. In Athens, we regularly meet at nice tavernas where volunteers and corporate partners of e-ISOTIS meet informally under the company of nice food and wine. Further events are expected to take place both in Thessaloniki and Athens but also in other places in Greece and in Europe.

In addition, all our volunteers have free access to all our training courses that e-ISOTIS implements either f2f or via e-learning tools.

The roots of what we call “volunteerism” reach back many generations, to a time when neighbours and townspeople would come together to build and run their communities
